    Take a bus from Kuusamo Airport or city center towards Ruka. Alight at a stop along Route 5 (E75) that intersects with Närängänvaarantie. From there, it's approximately 11km to the parking area. Consider a taxi or ride-sharing service for the final leg. Bus fare from Kuusamo Airport to Kuusamo city center is approximately €2.80. The Näränkä Natural Forest is divided into four distinct areas: Virmajoki, Romevaara, Pajupuro, and Närängänvaara. Hiking trails from the parking area lead to the Näränkä Wilderness Farm, a restored traditional farm offering a glimpse into Finland's past. The Vaaranpolku Trail, a 3.4 km loop, starts near the Suojärvi parking area and climbs to the wilderness farm, continuing to scenic viewpoints like Kirkkokallio and Yhdeksänsylenkallio. These spots offer panoramic views of the surrounding forests and the Hyöteikönsuo Mire Protection Area. The area is particularly appealing to hikers and nature photographers. The Näränkä Wilderness Farm features a rental hut and an always-open exhibition building. The Hyöteikönsuo Mire Trail, accessible from Hyöteiköntie parking area, crosses the Hyöteikönsuo Mire, offering a chance to observe the unique wetland environment. Keep an eye out for the memorial tree Niko, carved in 1876, commemorating a local pact with a bear.
