Kyösti Kallio Park, a refreshing green space in Oulu, spans four city blocks in the Hollihaka and Leveri districts. Originally known as New Heinätori in the early 1900s, the park was renamed in 1973 to honor President Kyösti Kallio. Kallio, who served as Finland's president from 1937 to 1940, also studied in Oulu. The park's history is rich. In the 1950s, a playground was added, and the eastern edge hosted a sports field used for skating in winter and a circus in summer. Over the years, the park has undergone renovations, including replacing poplar trees in the 2000s. Today, Kyösti Kallio Park offers walking paths and gardens, providing a serene environment for locals and tourists alike.
