Walking
Start your journey from Savonlinna city center (e.g., from the main square, Kauppatori). Head east towards the main road, Mannerheimintie, and follow it for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the bridge over the river. Cross the bridge and continue straight onto Puistometsäntie. Walk along Puistometsäntie for approximately 3 kilometers. You will pass by residential areas and some small shops. Keep an eye out for signs indicating the direction to Karjalankallio Lean-to Shelter. After about 20 minutes of walking, you should see the entrance to the shelter area on your left. Follow the path leading to the shelter, which is surrounded by beautiful forest.

From the Savonlinna city center, walk to the nearest bus stop, 'Savonlinna Kauppatori'. Take bus number 5 towards Punkaharju. The journey takes about 15 minutes. Get off at the 'Puistometsäntie' bus stop. Once you disembark, head east on Puistometsäntie for about 1 kilometer until you reach the entrance to the Karjalankallio Lean-to Shelter on your right. Follow the path leading to the shelter.
