Walking
Start from the center of Savonlinna, specifically from the Savonlinna Market Square (Savonlinnan Kauppatori). Head southeast on Rantakatu street towards the Olavinlinna Castle. Continue along Rantakatu until you reach the intersection with Koulukatu. Turn left onto Koulukatu and continue straight until you reach the end of the street. At the end, you will see a small park area. Continue walking straight through this park to reach the pedestrian bridge over the river. Cross the bridge and follow the path leading to Punkaharjun Harjutie. Once on Punkaharjun Harjutie, turn left and follow the road for about 2.5 kilometers. Look for signs pointing towards Runeberg's Mound. You will see the entrance to the site on your right. The total walk is approximately 3 kilometers and should take around 40 minutes.

Public Transport
From the Savonlinna city center, walk to the nearest bus stop located on the main road. Take bus number 23 towards Punkaharju. The bus will take you along the scenic route. Stay on the bus for about 15-20 minutes. Get off at the Punkaharjun Harjutie stop. From the bus stop, walk approximately 1 kilometer down Punkaharjun Harjutie. You will find Runeberg's Mound on your left side. The total travel time should be around 30-40 minutes depending on the bus schedule.
