From Savonlinna city center, walk to the Savonlinna bus station (Savonlinnan linja-autoasema). Board a bus heading towards Kolovesi National Park or any bus that goes towards the direction of the Unnamed Road, 58300 Savonlinna. The bus ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes. Get off at the nearest stop to Nahkiaissalo nature trail. From there, look for signs directing you to the trailhead, which should be within walking distance.

Walking
If you prefer to walk, start at the Savonlinna market square. Head east on Kauppatori towards the main road (Rantakatu). Continue on Rantakatu until you reach the bridge over the Saimaa lake. Cross the bridge, then take a left onto the walking path that runs alongside the lake. Follow this path for about 2-3 kilometers until you reach the trailhead for Nahkiaissalo. Make sure to have a map or GPS with you, as some sections may not have clear signage.

Bicycle Rental
Rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Savonlinna. Once you have your bike, head towards the lakeside path, which will take you along the beautiful shoreline. Continue cycling for approximately 5 kilometers until you reach the access point for Nahkiaissalo nature trail. Be attentive to the signs leading you to the trailhead, as some areas may be less marked.
