Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car from any part of Urho Kekkonen National Park, head toward the E75 highway (also known as the European route E75). Follow the signs for Kajaani. Once on the E75, drive approximately 80 kilometers until you reach the Kajaani exit. Continue into the city, and follow signs to the city center. The Urho Kekkonen Memorial Suuri Aika is located at Tapionkatu 7, 87100 Kajaani, which you can find using your GPS or a map application. There is public parking available nearby.

• Public Transportation

  If you prefer public transportation, check the local bus services that operate from various locations in Urho Kekkonen National Park to Kajaani. Look for buses heading to Kajaani or specifically to the city center. The journey may take around 1.5 to 2 hours depending on the bus schedule and stops. Once you arrive in Kajaani, you can walk to the memorial located at Tapionkatu 7, which is approximately a 15-minute walk from the bus station. Make sure to check the bus schedules in advance for the latest timings and potential costs.

• Bicycle

  For the more adventurous travelers, cycling is an option if you're staying nearby. You can bike from various points in the national park towards Kajaani, following rural roads.
