To reach the Cumberland Island National Seashore Visitor Center from downtown Jacksonville, start by taking the JTA bus route 10 (the '10' bus) towards 'Atlantic Beach'. The bus will take you to the Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA) terminal. From there, transfer to the Greyhound bus service, which travels to St. Marys, GA. You will need to purchase a ticket for your trip to St. Marys. Once you arrive at the St. Marys bus station, exit the station and walk south on St. Marys St. W. Continue walking straight for about 0.5 miles, and you will see the Cumberland Island National Seashore Visitor Center located at 113 St Marys St W. The total travel time is approximately 2-3 hours, depending on bus schedules.

Head towards the Jacksonville-Baldwin Rail Trail, which connects to other routes leading east. Follow the trail until you reach U.S. Route 17. Continue south on U.S. Route 17 until you reach St. Marys, GA. Once in St. Marys, navigate to St Marys St W, and you will arrive at the Visitor Center. This option may take a full day and is recommended only for experienced cyclists.
