From the center of St. Augustine, head to the nearest bus stop at the Plaza de la Constitución. Take the St. Johns County Transit bus Route 3 towards Ponte Vedra Beach. Stay on the bus for about 25 minutes. Get off at the stop closest to the intersection of A1A and Guana River Rd. From there, it’s about a 15-minute walk to the Guana Tolomato Matanzas National Estuarine Research Reserve. Walk north on Guana River Rd until you reach the entrance.

If you prefer to bike, rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops in downtown St. Augustine. Head east on King St, then take a left onto San Marco Ave. Follow San Marco Ave until you reach A1A. Turn right onto A1A and continue for about 8 miles. Look for Guana River Rd on your left. The entrance to the reserve will be a short distance down Guana River Rd.

For those who enjoy walking, start at the Plaza de la Constitución and head north on St. George St. Follow St. George St until you reach the intersection with King St, then turn right. Continue straight until you reach A1A, where you will turn left. Walk north on A1A for approximately 8 miles until you see Guana River Rd. Turn left onto Guana River Rd and walk a short distance to the reserve.
