Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Angers, head towards the Angers Saint-Laud train station. The station is located at 3 Place de la Gare, 49000 Angers. Once you arrive at the station, purchase a ticket for a train to Saumur. The train journey takes approximately 30-40 minutes. After arriving at Saumur station, exit the station and head towards the main road (Rue de la Gare). Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Rue de la République. Turn left onto Rue de la République. Follow this street as it leads you through the town, passing shops and cafes. Continue until you reach the intersection with Avenue du Général de Gaulle. Turn right here, and then take the first left onto Rue des Écoles. Follow this road, which will lead you directly toward the Château de Saumur where the Musée du Cheval is located. The museum is situated within the castle grounds; follow the signs to the entrance.
