Discover more about Marché Forville

Marché Forville is more than just a market; it's an immersive experience that captures the essence of Provençal life. Housed in a large covered hall at the foot of Le Suquet, Cannes's historic old town, the market has been a local institution since its construction in 1932, replacing an earlier wooden structure from 1884. Inside, a kaleidoscope of stalls overflows with seasonal fruits and vegetables, fragrant herbs, aromatic spices, and vibrant flowers. Fresh seafood, from oysters to a variety of fish, is a highlight, with fishmongers ready to offer expert advice. Local and regional specialties abound, including traditional French cheeses, charcuterie, olives, and freshly baked bread. You can also find Italian cuisine and charcuterie. The market is a social hub where locals gather to chat and share a drink or a dish of Provençal specialties. Visiting in the morning allows you to savor the vibrant atmosphere before the crowds arrive. On Mondays, the produce market transforms into a flea market, offering old books, antique art, porcelain, and other curiosities. In 2024, the Cannes Town Hall began a comprehensive renovation of the market and its surroundings. During this time, local producers and fishermen are temporarily located under a large hall on Allées de la Liberté, while other vendors remain on the eastern side of Carreau Forville.
