From the center of Colmar, start at the Colmar Train Station (Gare de Colmar). Exit the station and head south on Rue de la Gare towards Rue de la Liberté. Continue straight to reach the Place de la Gare. From there, turn left onto Avenue du Général Leclerc. Walk along Avenue du Général Leclerc until you reach the intersection with Rue des Écoles. Take a right onto Rue des Écoles, and follow it until you reach the Canal du Rhin. Cross the canal using the bridge and continue straight on the path beside the canal. Follow the canal path for approximately 5 km, enjoying the scenery. Look for signs towards Isteiner Schwellen, which will indicate that you are getting close. The swimming lake is located in Efringen-Kirchen, Germany, just across the border from France.

Rent a bicycle from one of the many rental shops in Colmar. From the shop, head towards the Canal du Rhin by following the signs for the bike paths. Once you reach the canal, turn left and cycle along the canal path. The ride is approximately 5 km, and you can enjoy the beautiful views of the canal. Look for directional signs towards Isteiner Schwellen as you approach the area. The destination will be on your right side as you approach Efringen-Kirchen.
