From the center of Grenoble at Place Grenette, walk southwest on Rue de la République towards Rue du Lycée. Turn right onto Rue du Lycée and continue until you reach Place Saint-André. Walk towards the Isère river, following signs for 'Bastille'. Cross the Pont de la Caille bridge and continue along the riverside path. Follow signs for 'Téléphérique' to the cable car station at the base of the mountain. Cable car tickets cost €9.60 for a round trip.
