Getting There

Bicycle
From the center of La Rochelle, you can rent a bicycle from one of the local bike-sharing stations. Start at the 'Vélo' station near the Old Port (Vieux Port). Head towards the Boulevard de la République and follow the signs to Île de Ré. Cross the bridge towards the island. After crossing, continue straight, following the D735 road. After about 7 km, take a left towards Plage de Gatseau. Follow the local bike paths until you reach the beach.

From the La Rochelle city center, take bus line 3 from the 'Gambetta' bus stop towards 'La Pallice'. Get off at 'La Pallice' and transfer to bus line 15 towards 'Île de Ré'.
