If you're starting from the Lyon Part-Dieu train station, head to the Part-Dieu Metro station located in the basement of the train station. Take Line B (the blue line) towards Jean Macé. After 4 stops, get off at the 'Brotteaux' station. Transfer to Line A (the green line) in the direction of 'Perrache'. After 3 stops, get off at 'Cordeliers' station. From there, take the Rue de la République exit, then walk straight until you reach Place des Jacobins, which will be on your right.
Tram
If you are near the Lyon Perrache station, you can take Tram T1. Board the tram at the Perrache stop and ride for 2 stops until you reach 'Hotel de Ville - Louis Pradel'. From there, walk straight on Rue de la République, heading north. Continue walking until you reach Place des Jacobins, which will be on your left, right after you pass the intersection with Rue des Archers.
Walking
If you're in the vicinity of Vieux Lyon (the old town), you can enjoy a pleasant walk to Place des Jacobins. Start by heading towards the Saône River and cross the Pont Bonaparte bridge. Once across, follow Rue de la Barre straight ahead. Continue walking on Rue de la République, which will lead you to Place des Jacobins. This route takes you through some lovely shops and cafés, making it a delightful experience.
Bus
From the Bellecour area, you can take bus line C3 at the 'Bellecour' bus stop. Ride for just 2 stops and get off at 'Jacobins - Palais de Justice'. After exiting the bus, walk straight for a short distance, and you'll find yourself at Place des Jacobins.
