Discover more about Manoir de Rousson

Manoir de Rousson, nestled in the French countryside of Parcé-sur-Sarthe, is a captivating testament to 15th-century architecture and history. Originally built by Pierre 1er de Champagne, a baron of Maine, the manor served as a dependency of the Château de Pescheseul. Over the centuries, it has undergone modifications, with agricultural sections remodeled in the 18th century. The manor features a simple main building flanked by a polygonal staircase tower. In 1981, Michèle and Jack Frassetto, driven by their passion for old stones, purchased the property and meticulously restored it, respecting the style of the era. Today, the Manoir de Rousson hosts cultural events such as classical and jazz concerts, theater performances, and art exhibitions. The façades and roofs of the main building, along with its tower and several interior fireplaces, have been listed as historical monuments since May 30, 1984. The village of Parcé-sur-Sarthe, where the manor is located, is recognized as a Petite Cité de Caractère, offering visitors a charming glimpse into medieval French life.
