Walking
The Abbaye aux Dames is easily accessible on foot from the center of Saintes. From the Arc de Germanicus, walk northeast along the Charente River on Quai de la République. Cross the Pont Amilion and continue onto Place de l'Abbaye. The abbey will be on your left. The walk is approximately 500 meters and should take about 5-10 minutes. There are no costs associated with walking.

The BUSS city bus network serves the Abbaye aux Dames. From the Gare de Saintes SNCF (train station), take Line A towards Les Côteaux and get off at the La Poste stop in the city center. From there, it is a short walk to the abbey as described in the walking directions. A single ticket costs €1.10 and is valid for one hour. The bus ride from the train station to La Poste is approximately 10 minutes.

If driving, follow signs to the Abbaye aux Dames. From the A10 motorway, take Exit 35 and follow directions to Saintes Centre. Once in the city center, follow signs to the abbey. Free parking is available near the abbey, accessible via Rue Geoffroy Martel. Parking Abbaye aux Dames is located close to the medieval complex of Abbaye de Sainte-Marie-des-Dames. Be aware that parking spaces may be limited, especially during peak season.
