Public Transport

From the Saint-Malo city center, go to the 'Gare Routière' (bus station) at 2 Rue de la République. Take Bus Line 1 towards 'Saint-Malo - La Chipaudière' and get off at the 'La Chipaudière' stop. The bus ride is about 15 minutes, followed by a short walk to the Malouinière. A single bus fare is around €2.
Walking

From Place Chateaubriand in the city center, walk northwest on Rue de l'Église, then continue onto Rue de la Mer, following signs for 'La Chipaudière'. The walk is approximately 45 minutes through scenic parts of Saint-Malo.
Taxi

Taxis are available throughout Saint-Malo. A taxi from the city center to La Chipaudière typically costs between €13 and €23, depending on the distance and time of day. Taxi rates in Saint-Malo start at €1.50 per km.
Car

From the D2 (St-Malo/St-Servan to St-Méloir des Ondes), turn left at the Fresne crossroads towards Paramé (C10), then take the first left after about 500m. Alternatively, from Avenue du Maréchal Juin, at the Liberation roundabout (Lidl Paramé), take the exit towards La Chipaudière, follow route C10 for about 1.5km, and turn right towards La Chipaudière. Free parking is available on the property.

Malouinière de la Chipaudière, also known as Château de la Chipaudière, is one of the largest and most well-preserved examples of a 'malouinière,' a country house built by wealthy shipowners from Saint-Malo in the 17th and 18th centuries. Constructed in 1710 for François-Auguste Magon de la Lande, a prominent shipowner and corsair, the manor reflects the prosperity and maritime heritage of Saint-Malo during that era. The manor's architecture showcases a classic style with a central building flanked by two wings and adorned with a pediment displaying the family's coat of arms. The interior boasts richly decorated rooms featuring Carrara marble, intricate woodwork, and exquisite fabrics. A chapel with a bell tower is also integrated into the estate. The 4-hectare park surrounding the Malouinière de la Chipaudière features formal French gardens with terraces, a water feature, and tree-lined avenues. These gardens provide a serene setting for visitors to explore and appreciate the beauty of the estate. Today, the Malouinière de la Chipaudière remains inhabited by the Magon family and is open to the public for guided tours. Visitors can explore the ceremonial rooms, admire the architecture and gardens, and learn about the history of the manor and the Magon family.
