Getting There

  • Public Transport

    From Paris, the RER C train is a popular option. Take the RER C to Versailles Château Rive Gauche station. From the station, it's approximately a 10-15 minute walk to La Maréchalerie. Follow Avenue de la Liberté, then turn left onto Avenue de Sceaux; the art center is on the right. A round trip ticket from Paris costs about €7. Alternatively, bus line 171 runs from Pont de Sèvres (terminus of Paris Metro line 9) to Versailles. Get off at the 'Versailles - Gare' stop, a 10-minute walk to La Maréchalerie. Follow Rue de la Paroisse, then turn right onto Avenue de Sceaux. A bus ticket costs €2.

  • Walking

    From the Palace of Versailles, walk along Place d'Armes away from the palace gates, and turn right onto Avenue de Sceaux. Continue along Avenue de Sceaux for approximately 5 minutes. La Maréchalerie will be on your left, just past the intersection with Rue de l'Indépendance Américaine. This is a direct and straightforward walk.

  • Taxi/Ride-Share

    Taxis and ride-sharing services (Uber, Bolt) are readily available in Versailles. A taxi from Versailles Château Rive Gauche train station to La Maréchalerie is a short ride, costing approximately €10-€15, depending on traffic and time of day. Be sure the driver knows the address: 5 Avenue de Sceaux, 78000 Versailles.

  • Driving

    From the A13 motorway, take exit number 5, 'Versailles Centre,' and follow signs for the Palace of Versailles. Once in Versailles, follow signs for Avenue de Sceaux. La Maréchalerie is located at 5 Avenue de Sceaux. Parking is available at Place d'Armes, directly in front of the Palace, a short walk to La Maréchalerie. Rates are €4.80/hour for the first 4 hours, then €2.40/hour. Parking is also available in the Palace grounds via the Queen's Gate for €15 per vehicle. Note that there is no free parking in Versailles.
