The Fa'aruma'i Waterfalls, located east of Tahiti in Tiarei, are a trio of stunning cascades easily accessible and surrounded by lush rainforest. The most famous is Vaimahuta Fall, plunging 262 feet, while Haamaremare Rahi is the tallest at 328 feet. These falls offer a refreshing escape into Tahiti's natural beauty.

Car
From Papeete, drive east on the main road. After about 45 minutes, look for the sign for 3 Cascade de Faarumai. Turn right onto the narrow road, passing through a small village. Continue driving until you reach the parking lot at the end of the road. Parking is free.
Public Transport
From Papeete, take bus number 11 towards Hitiaa O Te Ra. Ask the driver to let you know when you reach the stop closest to Fa'aruma'i Waterfalls. From the bus stop, walk towards FJ82+668. The waterfalls are about a 15-minute walk from the bus stop. The bus costs approximately $1-2 USD.
Walking
From the parking lot, cross the river on a bridge. Follow the trail for about 5 minutes to reach Vaimahuta Falls. To reach Haamaremare Rahi & Haamaremare Iti Falls, continue on the trail for another 15 minutes. The trail is mostly a gravel path.
