Getting there

Taxi

From the Vaiare ferry terminal or Moorea Airport (Temae), taxis are readily available. A taxi ride to Moorea Activities Center in Opunohu Bay will take approximately 20-30 minutes. Taxis generally charge a base fare plus a per-kilometer rate. Expect to pay around 651 XPF for a 5km ride. Keep in mind that fares can increase at night. Some taxi services can be contacted for pre-booking.

Rental Car

Car rental agencies are located at both the ferry terminal and the airport. Renting a car offers flexibility in exploring Moorea at your own pace. From the ferry terminal, follow the main road north towards Opunohu Bay. The drive is approximately 20-30 minutes. Daily rental rates typically start around 9,300 XPF. Parking is available at Moorea Activities Center.

Public Transport

Buses operate on Moorea, but service can be unreliable. The bus leaves from the port at Vaiare. Check local schedules for the most up-to-date information. The one-way fare is 500CFP.
