Car
If you are traveling by car, start your journey in Arabia Mountain and head towards the nearest major road, which is the Georgia State Route 20. Continue on GA-20 toward the northwest. After about 10 miles, merge onto GA-400 North and follow the signs for the Blue Ridge Mountains. After approximately 30 miles, exit onto US-129 North toward Cleveland. Continue on US-129 for about 15 miles. You will want to take a left onto GA-75, which will lead you closer to your destination. Follow the signs for the Gergeti Glacier area, parking at the designated area near the visitor center. Note that the nearest parking can be around 5-10 minutes walking distance from the glacier itself.

Public Transportation
For those relying on public transportation, you can take a bus from the nearest city, Mtskheta, which is about a 30-minute ride from Tbilisi. Buses to Kazbegi run frequently, and you will need to get off at the stop for Gergeti. From the bus stop, it is about a 30-45 minute hike to the glacier. Depending on the bus and time of day, tickets are generally inexpensive, costing around 5 GEL. Ensure to check the bus schedule ahead of time, as services can be less frequent in the off-peak season.
