Getting There

Taxi
From Kazbegi, taxis are readily available to take you to the Truso Gorge trailhead near Kvemo Okrokana. Negotiate the price and duration beforehand, as the driver can wait and return you to Kazbegi. A round trip should cost around 80 GEL. Alternatively, arrange for a pick-up at Kvemo Okrokana or deeper in the gorge.

Public Transport
Mountain Freaks Travel Agency offers daily shared transfers from their office in Stepantsminda (Kazbegi) to Kvemo Okrokana. The cost is 18 USD per person for a round trip. The transfer departs at 9:15 AM and 11:15 AM, with return pick-ups at 4:30 PM and 6:30 PM respectively. Book in advance to secure your spot.

Driving
If you have your own car, you can drive to Kvemo Okrokana, the starting point of the hike. A car with high clearance is recommended to drive further into the valley. From Tbilisi, take the Georgian Military Highway towards Kazbegi. The drive to Kobi takes about 2 hours, where you turn off the asphalt road to Truso Gorge. Parking is available near Kvemo Okrokana or closer to Truso Camping & Cafe to shorten the hike.
