If you are driving, start from Tbilisi and take the E117 highway towards Telavi. After approximately 1.5 hours, you will reach Telavi. From Telavi, continue on the E117 road towards Akhmeta. After about 15 km, look for the signs leading to Alaverdi Monastery. The monastery is located just off the main road. There is parking available near the entrance.

From Tbilisi, you can take a marshrutka (minibus) to Telavi from the Didube Bus Station. The journey takes around 2 hours. Once you arrive in Telavi, transfer to another marshrutka heading to Akhmeta. The monastery is situated roughly 15 km from Telavi, and you can ask the driver to drop you off at Alaverdi Monastery. Be prepared for a short walk from the drop-off point to the monastery entrance.
