Ensure your vehicle is suitable for off-road driving.

  • Public Transportation

From Tbilisi, take a marshrutka (minibus) to Telavi. This journey takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. Upon arriving in Telavi, you will need to transfer to another marshrutka heading to Akhmeta. Once in Akhmeta, look for marshrutkas or shared taxis to Omalo. Note that these vehicles may only depart when full, so there may be some waiting time. The total journey can take 5-7 hours, depending on connections and waiting times.

Consider joining a guided tour from Tbilisi or Telavi specifically to Tusheti National Park. These tours often include transportation, a guide, and sometimes meals.
