Getting There

    From the center of Khevsureti, head southwest on the main road leading towards the town of Khevsureti. Continue on the road for approximately 20 kilometers until you reach the intersection with the Mtskheta-Stepantsminda road (E117). Turn left onto E117 and follow the signs towards Akhalkalaki. Stay on this road for about 40 kilometers until you reach the town of Akhalkalaki. The castle is located near the Akhalkalaki-Kartsakhi border area, just off the main road.

    Begin your journey from Khevsureti by taking a minibus (marshrutka) to Stepantsminda. The marshrutkas depart from the central bus station in Khevsureti. Once you arrive in Stepantsminda, transfer to another marshrutka heading to Akhalkalaki. This leg of the journey may take around 1.5 hours. Upon reaching Akhalkalaki, the castle is located roughly 3 kilometers from the town center. You can either walk or hire a local taxi to reach the castle.
