In winter, check road conditions as the pass may be closed due to snow. There are no tolls on this route, and parking is available at scenic viewpoints along the way. Car rentals in Tbilisi typically range from 50 GEL to 150 GEL per day.

While there's no direct public transport to Gombori itself, you can take a marshrutka (minibus) from Tbilisi to Telavi. These depart from the Ortachala bus station in Tbilisi and cost approximately 10-15 GEL. From Telavi, you can hire a taxi to explore the Gombori area. A taxi from Telavi to Gombori Pass and back will cost around 50-80 GEL. Keep in mind that marshrutkas can be crowded and the journey can take longer than driving.
