Public Transport - Metro and Minibus
Start your journey at Didube Metro Station in Tbilisi. Take the metro to the last stop, which is the Akhmeteli Theatre station. Once you exit the metro, head to the nearby minibus station. Look for a minibus heading to Mtskheta, as it will pass near Kvatakhevi Monastery. Get off at the Tsinarekhi stop (approximately a 30-minute ride). From the bus stop, walk towards the Zahesi-Mtskheta road. Follow the road signs to the Kvatakhevi Monastery Complex, which is about a 15-minute walk. The monastery should be visible as you approach.

Begin your journey at the Tbilisi Central Bus Station. Purchase a ticket for a bus heading to Mtskheta. The journey will take approximately 30 minutes. Inform the driver or conductor that you want to get off at the Kvatakhevi Monastery stop. As you get off, look for signs directing you towards the monastery, which is about a 20-minute walk along the road. You will see the monastery on your left as you approach.

If you prefer to explore the area on foot and are staying near the Old Town, you can take a leisurely walk towards Mtskheta. Head northwest through the streets of Tbilisi towards the Mtkvari River. Cross the bridge and follow the signs to Mtskheta. This walk can take about 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you reach Mtskheta, ask locals for directions to Kvatakhevi Monastery, which is just a short distance away from the town center.
