Discover more about Tempodrom Berlin

The Tempodrom is a versatile event venue in Berlin, known for its distinctive architecture reminiscent of a circus tent. Founded in 1980 by Irene Moessinger, it began as a small circus tent on Potsdamer Platz, quickly becoming a popular alternative cultural space. Over the years, it moved to different locations, including a temporary site near Ostbahnhof, before finding its permanent home near Anhalter Bahnhof in the Kreuzberg neighborhood. The current structure, built in 2001, features a striking white, reinforced concrete roof that echoes the original tent shape while incorporating modern architectural elements. Inside, the Tempodrom houses two arenas: the main arena with a capacity of up to 3,500 and a smaller arena for more intimate events. This allows the venue to host a diverse range of events, including concerts, theater performances, comedy shows, corporate events, and even sports. In addition to the event spaces, the Tempodrom also houses the Liquidrom, a unique spa where visitors can float in saltwater while listening to ambient underwater sounds. The Tempodrom is committed to accessibility, offering parking spaces for people with disabilities, step-free access, elevators, and accessible restrooms.
