Public Transport
To reach Neurathen Castle via public transport, take a train from Dresden to Kurort Rathen. From Kurort Rathen, take the ferry across the Elbe River to Niederrathen. From Niederrathen, follow the well-marked hiking trails uphill towards the Bastei Bridge and Neurathen Castle. The walk from Niederrathen to the castle takes approximately 30-45 minutes and involves a steep climb. A single ferry ride costs around €3 per person. Alternatively, take bus 237 from Pirna to Lohmen, Schloss, and walk 10-15 minutes uphill to the castle.

Driving
If driving, head towards Lohmen. From Lohmen, follow signs to the Bastei area. There is a large parking lot near the Bastei (Bastei car park). From the parking lot, follow the signs for Neurathen Castle, which is a short walk away. Parking costs approximately €7 for up to 4 hours or €12 for the day. An alternative Park-and-Ride is located 2.5 km away, costing €6 plus €1.5 per person for the shuttle bus.

For those already in the Bastei area, follow the well-marked hiking trails from the Bastei Bridge towards Neurathen Castle. The entrance to the castle ruins is located just beyond the Bastei Bridge. The walk is short but involves some steps and uneven terrain. Entrance to Neurathen Castle costs €2.50 per person.
