If you are starting from the central Dusseldorf main station (Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof), head to the tram stop located directly outside the station. Look for tram line 701 or 704, which will take you towards the city center. Get on the tram, and stay on for about 20 minutes. You will need to get off at the 'Heinrich-Heine-Allee' stop. Once you exit the tram, follow the signs to the 'Schadowstraße' exit, which leads to the shopping street. From here, walk straight for about 10 minutes, passing by the popular shopping areas. Continue until you reach the 'Alter Markt' in Cologne, which is located in the heart of the city.

From the central Dusseldorf main station (Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof), walk to the bus terminal located next to the station. Look for bus line 721 or 760 heading towards 'Köln'. Board the bus and enjoy a scenic ride for approximately 40 minutes. The bus will take you directly to Cologne. Once you arrive at the bus station in Cologne, it’s a short 15-minute walk to 'Alter Markt'. Exit the station and head towards the 'Alter Markt' which is well-signposted. You will find it easily by following the signs.

At Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof, purchase a ticket to Cologne with Deutsche Bahn. Look for the Intercity (IC) or Regional Express (RE) trains heading to Köln Hbf (Cologne Main Station). The journey takes about 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive at Köln Hbf, exit the station and follow the signs for 'Alter Markt'. It is approximately a 15-minute walk from the train station. Head straight down the 'Bahnhofstraße' and turn right at 'Schildergasse', which will lead you directly to the 'Alter Markt'.
