Domplatz is centrally located in Erfurt's Altstadt (Old Town) and easily accessible on foot from most central locations. From the Anger (Erfurt's main shopping street), walk north towards the Erfurt Cathedral. The walk is approximately 5-10 minutes, and Domplatz will be directly in front of the cathedral. Landmarks like the Fischmarkt and Rathaus (City Hall) are within a short walking distance, providing easy orientation.

Erfurt's excellent public transport network makes reaching Domplatz simple. Several tram lines (3, 4, and 6) stop directly at the Domplatz station. From Erfurt Hauptbahnhof (main train station), take tram line 3 or 6 towards Domplatz. A single ticket for a short trip (Kurzstrecke) costs approximately €1.70. Alternatively, a single ticket for the city area costs around €2.30 and is valid for one hour.

Taxis and ride-sharing services are readily available in Erfurt. A taxi ride from Erfurt Hauptbahnhof to Domplatz typically costs between €8 and €12, depending on traffic. Several taxi stands are located near the train station and in the city center. Ride-sharing apps like Uber are also available.

If driving, follow the city's parking guidance system (Parkleitsystem) to the Parkhaus Domplatz, an underground car park directly beneath the square. The entrance is located at Bechtheimer Straße 1.
