Start at the Heidelberg Hauptbahnhof (main train station). Exit the station and head towards the main road, B37. Walk straight for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the Alte Brücke (Old Bridge). Cross the bridge, and continue straight on the Hauptstraße, the main shopping street of Heidelberg. After about 500 meters, you will see a turn to the left towards the Philosophenweg (Philosopher's Walk). Follow this path uphill until you reach the castle area. From the castle, head towards the edge, and you will find the Thick Tower (Dicker Turm) nearby.
