If you are traveling by car, take the A4 motorway and exit at Eisenach. Follow the signs towards Eisenach and then to Wartburg. The road 'Auf d. Wartburg' leads directly to the castle. There is a parking lot available at the base of the hill, where you can park your car (parking fees may apply, check local signage). From the parking area, it is an uphill walk to the castle, approximately 15-20 minutes.

Public Transportation (Train and Bus)
To reach Wartburg using public transportation, take a train to Eisenach. Trains to Eisenach are frequent from major cities in Thuringia. Once you arrive at Eisenach train station, exit the station and look for Bus Line 1 (Richtung Wartburg) which will take you directly to the Wartburg stop. The bus ride is approximately 15 minutes. After disembarking, follow the signs to the castle, which is a short walk uphill.

If you are in the town of Eisenach, you can also walk to Wartburg. From the city center, it is about a 40-minute walk uphill. Head northwest on Marktstraße, then continue onto Karlstraße. Follow the signs to Wartburg, which will guide you through scenic walking paths leading to the castle.
