From the Würzburg Residence, walk towards the city center, passing through the Hofgarten (Court Gardens) and continue straight until you reach the bridge. The walk is mostly flat and takes approximately 10-15 minutes from either location. The bridge connects the city center directly to the Festung Marienberg on the other side of the Main river.

If arriving by tram, the closest stops are 'Dom' (served by lines 1, 3, and 5) and 'Barbarossaplatz' (served by lines 2 and 4). From either stop, it's a short walk to the bridge. If arriving by bus, several lines stop at 'Juliuspromenade,' a central hub, from which you can walk towards the river and the bridge. A single tram or bus fare is approximately €3.10. A day ticket costs €5.20, which may be a better option if you plan to use public transport extensively.
