Discover more about Windsor Suspension Bridge

The Windsor Suspension Bridge offers a unique and exhilarating experience for those visiting Gibraltar. Spanning 71 meters across a 50-meter-deep gorge, the bridge connects two batteries along the Royal Anglian Way within the Upper Rock Nature Reserve. Opened on June 21, 2016, the bridge was constructed by Bovis Koala, a local Gibraltar contractor, in collaboration with Muntanya, a Spanish contractor specializing in suspension bridges. The bridge's main components were assembled in Spain and transported to Gibraltar. The bridge is firmly entrenched on either side by supporting anchors driven 12 meters into the rock face. Walking across the bridge, visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the Mediterranean Sea, the Strait of Gibraltar, the Bay of Algeciras, and the North African coastline. The bridge sways and wobbles slightly as people walk across it, adding to the thrill. The Windsor Suspension Bridge is part of a broader Upper Rock restoration program that has enhanced walking trails and provided interpretation panels. The bridge is accessible via the Upper Rock Nature Reserve.
