It played a role in the Great Siege of Gibraltar. Over the years, the battery was updated with increasingly powerful weaponry, including a 9-inch rifled muzzle loading gun in 1871 and a 6-inch Mark VII gun in 1905.Inside the underground museum, visitors can explore a wide array of military relics dating back to the 18th century. One of the most interesting exhibits is a recreation of a World War II-era bunker, complete with original equipment and furnishings.
