Walking
From Main Street, head south towards the Alameda Gardens. The Cable Car base station is located just beyond the gardens, off Red Sands Road. The walk is approximately 10-15 minutes from the city center. No costs are involved for walking.
Public Transport
Local buses, including routes 2, 3, 4 and 10, stop near the Cable Car base station. From the Gibraltar-Spain border, take a bus from Kingsway to Boyd Street Terminus. From the Cruise Ship Terminal, take a bus from Europort Road to Boyd Street Terminus. The bus fare is approximately £2.20 for a single trip.
Taxi
Taxis are readily available throughout Gibraltar. A taxi ride from the Gibraltar-Spain border to the Cable Car base station typically costs around £10-£15. A ride from the Cruise Terminal will cost approximately the same.
Parking
If driving, follow signs for the 'Upper Rock Nature Reserve'. Limited free parking is available on Grand Parade near the Cable Car bottom station, but spaces fill up quickly. Paid parking is available at the Cable Car Parking Lot on Red Sands Road. Parking fees vary, so check local signage for details. Be aware that it is not possible to drive a non-resident vehicle within the area of the Gibraltar Nature Reserve, Upper Rock, except in the case of Blue Badge holders.
