The Holy Church of the Nativity of Christ (Christokopidou) is located in the Psyrri neighborhood of Athens. The church is one of the oldest in the city and has historical and architectural significance. It is believed that the church is located on the site of an ancient pagan temple dedicated to Athena Pallas. The church is also linked to the Kopidis family, who were prominent benefactors. The name 'Christokopidi' means 'Christ of Kopidis'. A marble plaque commemorates the Kopidis family to the right of the entrance. The current church was built around 1860 on the site of a smaller, older Christian church. The architecture is a blend of neoclassicism and neo-Byzantinism. The church features a domed, cruciform, four-columned design with a transept, a long western aisle, and a gallery. Two bell towers are located on the western side. Inside, visitors can see elaborate frescoes from the early to mid-20th century, as well as preserved old icons, including those of St. Spyridon and St. Panteleimon. The church opens in the mornings, but specific hours may vary.
