The Rethymnon Lighthouse, built in the 1830s during Egyptian rule, stands proudly at the end of the old Venetian harbor. This 9-meter-high structure is the second-largest remaining Egyptian lighthouse in Crete and offers a glimpse into the island's diverse past. Though no longer operational, it remains a picturesque landmark and a popular spot for visitors.

From the heart of Rethymno's Old Town, make your way towards the waterfront. Follow the promenade eastward, passing by cafes and shops. Continue until you reach the end of the harbor, where the lighthouse is located on a small pier. The walk is approximately 1 kilometer and takes about 15-20 minutes.

If you are arriving from other towns like Chania or Heraklion, take a KTEL bus to Rethymno. From the Rethymno bus station, head towards the old town, which is about a 20-minute walk to the harbor. Alternatively, a local bus to the waterfront area can shorten the walk. Local bus fare is approximately €1.50.
