Getting there

Walking

From the heart of Rethymno's Old Town, make your way towards the waterfront. Follow the promenade eastward, passing by cafes and shops. Continue until you reach the end of the harbor, where the lighthouse is located on a small pier. The walk is approximately 1 kilometer and takes about 15-20 minutes.

Public Transport

If you are arriving from other towns like Chania or Heraklion, take a KTEL bus to Rethymno. From the Rethymno bus station, head towards the old town, which is about a 20-minute walk to the harbor. Alternatively, a local bus to the waterfront area can shorten the walk. Local bus fare is approximately €1.50.

Taxi

Taxis are readily available in Rethymno. A short taxi ride from the Rethymno bus station or any point in the town center to the Venetian Harbor and the lighthouse typically costs between €5 and €10. Ensure the meter is running or agree on a fare before starting your journey.
