Getting There

• Walking

  Start at the central square of Nafplio, known as Syntagma Square. From there, head east on Vasileos Konstantinou Street towards the waterfront. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Vasileos Georgiou Street. Turn left onto Vasileos Georgiou Street and walk towards the Old Town area. You'll pass by various shops and cafes along the way. Keep walking until you reach the end of the street, where you should see the entrance to the Old Town (the area is pedestrianized). Continue walking straight through the Old Town, making sure to explore the charming alleys and historic buildings. After about 15 minutes of walking, you will reach the entrance to the fortress of Palamidi. Here, you will follow the signs directing you to the archaeological site of the Peirene Fountain. It is located near the site of ancient Corinth, which is a short distance from Nafplio. Be prepared for a bit of walking as the fountain is not in the immediate vicinity of Nafplio's center, but it is a significant historical landmark worth the trip.

• Public Transport

  From Nafplio, head to the bus station, which is located on the outskirts of the town. You can easily walk to the station from the city center. Once at the bus station, look for the bus that goes to Corinth. The buses run frequently, so you should not have to wait long. The trip to Corinth will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Upon arrival in Corinth, ask for directions to the Peirene Fountain, which is located in the archaeological park area. It's a short walk from the bus station to the fountain. Make sure to check the bus schedule for your return trip to Nafplio.
