If you are starting from the center of Rethymno, head towards the old town area. Walk towards the Venetian Harbor, which is a popular landmark in Rethymno. From the harbor, continue walking along the coastal road towards Chania. The Maritime Museum of Crete is located in Chania, approximately 60 kilometers from Rethymno. You will need to take a bus or other means to reach Chania.

From Rethymno, go to the Rethymno bus station located on Eirinis Avenue. Purchase a ticket for a bus heading to Chania. The journey takes approximately 1 hour. Once you arrive at the Chania bus station, exit the station and head southwest on Kountourioti Street. Continue walking straight for about 10 minutes, and you will find the Maritime Museum of Crete on your left.
