From Rethymno's old town, head towards the waterfront promenade, known as the 'Rimondi Fountain' area. Walk east along the promenade until you reach the bus station near the port. Look for the KTEL bus service that goes towards Akrotiri. Purchase a ticket to Marathi bay. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Marathi bay, disembark and walk towards Sosorides beach. The beach is a short 5-minute walk from the bus stop, following the signs to the beach.

If you prefer a more direct route, you can take a taxi from anywhere in Rethymno. Simply ask the driver to take you to 'Sosorides beach, Marathi bay, Akrotiri'. The drive will take around 20-25 minutes depending on traffic. Make sure to confirm the fare before starting your journey.

Bicycle Rental
For a more active approach, consider renting a bicycle in Rethymno. Many rental shops are located in the old town. Once you have your bike, head towards the coastal road (Leoforos Eirinis) and follow it eastward towards Akrotiri. The distance to Sosorides beach is approximately 12 km, and the ride should take about 45-60 minutes. Follow the signs that lead you to Marathi bay, and once there, look for Sosorides beach.
