Shark Cove Beach: Guam's Secluded Snorkeling Paradise

Shark Cove Beach, nestled on the northwest coast of Guam in Dededo, is a picturesque and relatively small beach stretching approximately 100 meters. This secluded cove offers a unique and adventurous experience for those seeking tranquility and natural beauty. The beach is characterized by a mix of soft white sand and volcanic rocks, adding to its rugged charm. Shark Cove is renowned for its excellent snorkeling conditions, with clear waters teeming with colorful coral reefs and diverse marine life. Snorkelers can encounter tropical fish, sea turtles, and the occasional baby black tip reef shark. The beach is also a great spot for swimming, scuba diving, beachcombing, and exploring the underwater world. The journey to Shark Cove Beach is part of the adventure. The entrance to Sharks Cove starts at the bottom of the hill at Tanguisson Beach Park. A lane leading to the right takes a visitor into an even more remote lane after another hard right. This gravel lane will travel parallel to the beach but ends abruptly at the water. Hikers start out on foot turning north at the bottom of the cliff, passing the latte shaped rocks on the right. Roughly follow the water line in sometimes-dense brush about one-quarter of a mile. Just beyond this point is a pristine palm-lined, deep, white sand beach visited by very few tourists. Despite its name, Shark Cove is not known for frequent shark sightings. Instead, it's celebrated for its stunning coral formations and rich marine biodiversity. The surrounding area offers additional attractions, including Ritidian Point for hiking and Fena Lake Reservoir for history enthusiasts.
