    If you are starting from the city center of Bissau, head northwest towards Avenida Amílcar Cabral. Continue walking straight until you reach the intersection with Rua de Lisboa. Turn left onto Rua de Lisboa. After about 600 meters, you will reach the roundabout. Take the first exit on your right onto Avenida 14 de Novembro. Keep walking straight until you see a sign for Fort São José da Amura. The fort is located approximately 1 km from the roundabout, and you will see its entrance on your left.

    Starting from the central market (Mercado Municipal), rent a bicycle and head towards Avenida Amílcar Cabral. Follow the same route as pedestrians: ride northwest until you reach Rua de Lisboa, then turn left. Continue straight to the roundabout and take the first exit onto Avenida 14 de Novembro. After about 1 km, look for the sign for Fort São José da Amura on your left. The ride should take around 15-20 minutes.
