Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start your journey in the main town of Anna Regina, which is the capital of the Essequibo Islands-West Demerara region. From Anna Regina, head south on the Essequibo Coast Road (also known as the Anna Regina Road) towards the village of Capoey. The drive will take approximately 30-40 minutes depending on traffic conditions. As you drive, you will pass through various small villages and scenic landscapes. Keep an eye out for signs pointing towards Capoey Lake Resort as you get closer. Once you arrive at Capoey Lake, look for the resort entrance, which is well marked.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, you can take a minibus from Anna Regina to Capoey. Buses frequently leave from the main bus park in Anna Regina. The fare is usually around 200-300 Guyanese dollars. Make sure to tell the driver your destination, as they will drop you off near Capoey Lake. After arriving, you may need to walk a short distance (approximately 10 minutes) to reach Capoey Lake Resort. Alternatively, if you are coming from Georgetown, take a bus to Anna Regina first, and then transfer to a minibus to Capoey.

  Another option is to hire a taxi for a more direct and comfortable journey. Taxis are available in Anna Regina and can take you directly to Capoey Lake Resort.
