• Car

  To reach Hispaniola from Bassin-Bleu by car, start by heading southeast on Route Nationale 1. Continue on this road for about 16 kilometers, which will take approximately 30 minutes. You will pass through scenic landscapes and local villages. Keep an eye out for signs directing you towards Port-au-Prince as you approach the intersection near Leogane. At the intersection, turn right onto Route Nationale 2 and continue for another 45 kilometers until you reach the town of Petit-Goâve. From Petit-Goâve, follow the coastal road towards the east for about 10 kilometers until you reach your destination. Ensure you have a GPS or a reliable map application to navigate through the area. Also, be aware of possible road conditions that can affect travel time.

• Public Transportation

  If you prefer public transportation, start at the main bus station in Bassin-Bleu. Look for a ‘tap-tap’ (shared taxi) heading to Port-au-Prince. These are typically waiting at the station. The fare is usually around 150 HTG (Haitian Gourdes) and the journey can take about an hour, depending on traffic. Once you arrive in Port-au-Prince, transfer to a ‘tap-tap’ or a local bus heading towards Petit-Goâve. The fare for this leg is approximately 200 HTG. Upon reaching Petit-Goâve, you can either catch another ‘tap-tap’ or a motorcycle taxi for the final stretch of about 10 kilometers to Hispaniola. The motorcycle taxi should cost around 100 HTG. Ensure to confirm the fare before the ride.
