Getting There

Tuk-tuk
From Parque Central in Copán Ruinas, the easiest way to reach Macaw Mountain is by tuk-tuk (motorcycle taxi). Tuk-tuks are readily available in the central square. The ride takes approximately 5-10 minutes and should cost around 25 Lempiras per person, each way, totaling 50 Lempiras for a round trip. Confirm the price with the driver before starting the journey. The driver will take you 2 km north of the Parque Central.

If you're already in Copán Ruinas and enjoy walking, you can reach Macaw Mountain on foot. From Parque Central, head north for approximately 2 km. The walk takes about 30-40 minutes, and is pretty steep. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and stay hydrated.
