Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are near the Gellért Baths, head south towards the Gellért Hill. You will see a path leading up to the hill. Follow the signs toward the Citadel. Once you reach the top of the hill, you can enjoy a stunning view of the city. From the viewpoint, continue heading east along the path until you see the entrance to the Rock Chapel (Szent Gellért rkp. 1). It should take you about 15-20 minutes to walk from the Gellért Baths to the chapel.

    From the nearest public transport stop, 'Gellért tér', you can take tram line 19. Ride the tram towards the 'Kelenföld vasútállomás' station. Get off at the next stop, 'Szent Gellért rakpart'. From there, walk east along the riverside pathway for about 10 minutes until you reach the Rock Chapel. The tram ride costs 350 HUF (about 1 EUR) and tickets can be purchased from machines at the tram stop.
