Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving, start from the center of Budapest and head towards District XII. Take the M1 motorway towards Széchenyi Hill. Follow the signs for János-hegy. There are parking facilities available at the base of the hill, but be aware that this may incur a parking fee, typically around 500 HUF per hour.

  • Public Transportation

    To reach János-hegy using public transportation, take tram number 61 from the city center to the 'Hűvösvölgy' stop. From there, you can switch to bus number 291 or bus number 63, which will take you closer to the base of János-hegy. Get off at the 'János-hegy' bus stop. The total cost for tram and bus tickets is usually around 350 HUF, and you can purchase the tickets at the tram/bus station.

    Once you arrive at the 'János-hegy' bus stop, you will need to walk approximately 1 km to reach the peak. Follow the clearly marked hiking trails leading up to János-hegy.
