Continue on Route 66 for about 75 kilometers until you reach the junction with the M7 motorway. Merge onto the M7 and follow the signs for Budapest. After approximately 85 kilometers, take the exit toward Kelenföld and merge onto Etele út. Continue straight until you reach the junction with Bartók Béla út, then turn left onto Bartók Béla út. Follow this road until you reach Hősök tere (Heroes' Square), where the Millennium Monument is located. Be prepared for potential parking fees in the area, which can vary from 300 HUF to 600 HUF per hour.
Public Transportation
To reach the Millennium Monument using public transport, begin by taking a train from Kaposvár railway station to Budapest. Trains run frequently, and the journey takes about 2.5 to 3 hours. Once you arrive at Budapest's Keleti Railway Station, exit the station and walk to the nearby bus stop. Take Bus 105 towards the Széll Kálmán tér and alight at the stop ‘Hősök tere’. The Millennium Monument is directly at Heroes' Square. Ensure you have a valid ticket for both the train and bus, which can be purchased at the station or via a mobile app. A train ticket to Budapest typically costs around 2,500 HUF, while a single bus ticket is about 350 HUF.
